I'll be upgrading our php and apache versions on half of the avenueblue server pool tonight.

Time?, From 1:30 2:30 am.

The other 4 servers have scheduled times of early next week, again late at night.

Of course it could only take 30 seconds.

Well remember the most important thing about
computer networking... since you informed us and
are doing a scheduled maintenance, it will be the
best case and be only a 30 second outage.. but if you did it unscheduled without telling us because it would only take 30 seconds... well it would be out for 2 days....

hah your right and it took 30 seconds, one issue with the cached chatboard php files tho.

I've never had an outage for more than 6 hours in 5 years of running isp's, and that was power based my telco didn't have the juice to stay running.

yeh but you have never run an isp with pops in 28 countries, 56 pops, 25 routers per pop, 36000 leased line customers, and 600 routers, running bgp, isis, and multicast... http://www.area51metro.com/images/icons/smile.gif

I had a 60 hour outage once... well 8 hour outage, plus intermitent probs for 52 more http://www.area51metro.com/images/icons/smile.gif
